The contemporary al fresco explorer no longer has the time to travel far to get the al fresco experience. Our proposal brings this to the center of Vienna within a restaurant near the main train station. We analysed the surrounding zones, places to get food from and public transportation, to better understand the ambition of people on site as well as its capacity.
Using this information extracted from a unity simulation, we are able to place volumes that cater to two types of customers; the busy worker and the curious explorer, both keen on eating outdoors and both nostalgic to the locally sourced products. The fast lane creates a linear path with a window counter situation. On the other hand, the meandering explorer lane takes the customer through gardens into the different dining, growing and learning programs.
